Your Colorful Moon Cactus Desktop Plant comes as a kit with step-by-step instructions and everything you need to care for your plant (and yourself). As you set up your colorful indoor desktop plant, enjoy getting a little dirty in the soil and creating a unique sanctuary with your cactus! Everything in the kit is designed with you in mind and customized to the needs of your plant.

Your Colorful Moon Cactus Desktop Plant will include:

Black Ceramic Planter – A reusable ceramic planter with tray/saucer. Planter is approximately 2” x 2” x 2”.

1 “Moon Cacti” – A vibrant plant grown in South East Asia. Part of the succulent family.

Aeration Mat – A green aeration mat made from recycled bottles to be placed at the bottom of the black planter liner. This mat helps keep oxygen available to the plants’ roots, which is crucial for their growth and development.

Cacti Foundation – The Gardenuity Foundation is custom blended compost matched to the needs of your cacti. 

Orange Scoop – To use when building your desktop garden.

Small Paintbrush – When indoors, cacti will gradually collect dust on their leaves, which can inhibit their growth and health. Keep your plants dust free by using the provided paint brush to gently remove any unwanted debris.

Decorative Garden Rocks – Place the rocks on top of the soil, surrounding the base of your plant (optional). The rocks are only for aesthetic purposes, so add as much or as little as you want.

When your plant arrives, take it out of the box as soon as you can and remove its travel attire. Remove your cacti from its plastic pot and gently massage away the excess soil, freeing up the root system from the packed growing media.

Setting up your desktop plant is simple and generally takes 5-10 minutes from start to finish. Printed instruction cards are included in each kit. 

PLANT CARE:

{icon_sunlight}LIGHT{/icon_sunlight} Needs 4-5 hours of indirect, natural light every day. For a happy plant, place it near a sunny window! Rotate your planter every week to give your plant equal exposure to sunlight.

{icon_watering}WATER{/icon_watering} Water only when the soil is completely dry—these cacti thrive with neglect! Water the soil thoroughly until the excess runs through the drainage holes. Make sure all areas are covered. (This quick drench replicates the heavy but infrequent rains in their native habitats.) Then place the plant back in its previous spot and hold off on watering until the soil completely dries out.
